Tips for a successful profile

Matching compares your skills, experience, education and preferred work location with the requirements of a job. Empty fields cannot be compared – a half-completed profile therefore receives lower match scores, even if you would be a good professional fit. Take the time to fill in every section.

The summary is your elevator pitch: in two to four sentences, describe what you can do, what you are looking for and what sets you apart. Avoid clichés such as "team player and resilient" and name concrete focus areas instead.

A profile photo is customary in Switzerland but not mandatory. If you use one, choose a recent, friendly picture with a neutral background.

For each position, describe not only the tasks but also the results: what did you build, improve or take responsibility for? Numbers and examples make the difference. Stick to the essentials – three to five points per position are enough.

• State periods without gaps; short breaks may simply be named.
• Current position first, then in reverse chronological order.
• Use the terminology found in job postings in your industry.

Enter skills individually and in the form they appear in job postings. Include tools, methods and certificates alongside professional expertise. Languages with levels (A1–C2) are particularly relevant for Swiss employers. Remove skills you no longer want to use – otherwise you will receive suggestions that do not match your goals.

Once your profile is complete, create a CV from it with one click in the CV builder. Set up several variants if needed, for example one for leadership roles and one for specialist positions. For each application you then select the appropriate CV.

In the settings you decide whether your profile is visible to employers. When visibility is enabled, employers can find you in the talent pool and contact you directly. If you prefer to search discreetly, disable visibility and continue to apply to jobs as usual.

Review your profile every few months: new training, new responsibilities, a changed preferred workload. An up-to-date profile looks well maintained and ensures the recommendations match your current situation.
